Dhammaguttā
Dhammaguttā:1.Dhammaguttā,Dhammaguttikā.-A secondary division of the Mahimsāsakas (Dpv.v.47; Mhv.v.8; Mbv.,p.96),probably an offshoot of the Sabbatthivādins.They had a special Vinaya of their own.According to Tibetan sources (Rockhill,pp.185,192),they were called after their leader,Dharmagupta.Their fundamental doctrines were these:that the Buddha is not comprised in the Sangha; that while there is great reward for offerings made to the Buddha,there is none for offerings to the Sangha; that a life of brahmacariya exists also among the devas; and that there are worldly laws as opposed to spiritual.
