Jātipūjaka Thera:An arahant.On the day of Vipassī Buddha’s birth many miracles occurred,and soothsayers predicted that he would be a Buddha.Jātipūjaka,hearing this,offered him jasmine flowers.Three kappas ago he became king thirty-four times under the name of Supāricariya (Ap.i.154).
He is probably identical with Samitigutta.ThagA.i.176.
