Sereyyaka Thera

Sereyyaka Thera：An arahant．In the time of Vipassī Buddha he，was a learned brahmin，and，seeing the Buddha in the forest，offered him sereyyaka （sirīga） flowers，which formed a canopy over the Buddha’s head．Fifteen kappas ago he was king twenty five times under the name of Cīnamāla．Ap．i．155； cf．Kassapa （ThagA．i．178）．
