A township (nigama) where lived Ghatīkāra,friend of Jotipāla (S.i.34,60).
The township was in Kosala,and once,during his long stay in Kosala,the Buddha visited the ārāma in which Kassapa Buddha had preached to Jotipāla,and there he himself preached the Ghatīkāra Sutta.M.ii.45ff.
