Ānanda suttaṃ

83. [PTS Page 105] [\q 105/] evaṃ me sutaṃ: ekaṃ samayaṃ āyasmā ānando sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Tatra kho, āyasmā ānando bhikkhu āmantesi: 'āvuso bhikkhavoti. 'Āvusoti kho te bhikkhu āyasmato ānandassa paccassosuṃ, āyasmā ānando etadavoca: puṇṇo nāma āvuso āyasmā mattāniputto amhākaṃ navakānaṃ sataṃ bahūpakāro hoti. So amhe iminā ovādena ovadati:

Upādāya āvuso ānanda, 'asmi'ti hoti, no anupādāya. Kiñca upādāya'asmi'ti hoti no anupādāya: rūpaṃ upādāya'asmi'ti hoti no anupādāya. Vedanā upādāya 'asmi'ti hoti no anupādāya. Saññaṃ upādāya 'asmi'ti hoti no anupādāya. Saṃkhāre upādāya 'asmi'ti hoti no anupādāya. Viññāṇaṃ upādāya 'asmi'ti hoti no anupādāya. Seyyathāpi āvuso ānanda, itthi vā puriso vā daharo yuvā maṇaḍanajātiko 1- ādāse vā parisuddhe pariyodāte acche vā udakapatte sakaṃ mukhanimittaṃ paccavekkhamāno upādāya passeyya, no anupādāya. Evameva kho āvuso ānanda rūpaṃ upādāya asmīti hoti, no anupādāya, vedanaṃ upādāya asmīti hoti , no anupādāya, saññaṃ upādāya asmīti hoti, no anupādāya, saṅkhāre upādāya asmīti hoti, no anupādāya, viññāṇaṃ upādāya 'asmi'ti hoti, no anupādāya.

Taṃ kiṃ maññasi āvuso ānanda, rūpaṃ niccaṃ vā aniccaṃ vāti? Aniccaṃ āvuso. Yaṃ panāniccaṃ dukkhaṃ vā taṃ sukhaṃ vāti? Dukkhaṃ āvuso. Yaṃ panāniccaṃ dukkhaṃ vipariṇāmadhammaṃ kallaṃ nu taṃ samanupassituṃ "etaṃ mama, eso'hamasmi, eso me attā"ti? No hetaṃ āvuso.

Virāgā vimuccati. Vimuttasmiṃ vimuttamiti' ñāṇaṃ hoti. Khiṇā jāti vusitaṃ buhmacariyaṃ kataṃ karaṇiyaṃ nāparaṃ itthattāyāti pajānātīti. "

Thinamiddhañca me cittaṃ pariyādāya tiṭṭhati. Anabhirato ca brahmacariyaṃ carāmi. Hoti ca me dhammesu vicikicchāti"

Atha kho sambahulā bhikkhū yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkamiṃsu. Upasaṃkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdiṃsu. Atha kho bhagavā aññataraṃ bhikkhuṃ āmantesi. Ehi tvaṃ bhikkhu, mama vacanena tissaṃ bhikkhuṃ āmantehi: "satthā taṃ āvuso tissa āmantetī"ti. Evaṃ bhanteti, kho so bhikkhu bhagavato paṭissutvā yenāyasmā tisso tenupasaṃkami, upasaṃkamitvā āyasmantaṃ tissaṃ etadavoca:"satthā taṃ āvuso tissa āmantetī"ti. "Evamāvuso"ti kho āyasmā tisso tassa bhikkhuno paṭissutvā yena bhagavā tenupasaṃkami. Upasaṃkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nīsidi. Seyyathāpi1- tissa, dve purisā, eko puriso amaggakusalo eko puriso maggakusalo, tamenaṃ so amaggakusalo puriso amuṃ maggakusalaṃ purisaṃ maggaṃ puccheyya, so evaṃ vadeyya: "ambho purisa, 2- ayaṃ maggo. Tena muhuttaṃ gaccha. Tena muhuttaṃ.

Gantvā dakkhissasi dvidhā pathaṃ. Tattha vāmaṃ muñcitvā dakkhiṇaṃ gaṇhāhi. Tena muhuttaṃ gaccha, tena muhuttaṃ gantvā dakkhissasi tibbaṃ vanasaṇḍaṃ. Tena muhuttaṃ gaccha. Tena muhuttaṃ gantvā dakkhissasi mahantaṃ ninnaṃ pallalaṃ, tena muhuttaṃ gaccha, tena muhuttaṃ gantvā dakkhissasi sobbhaṃ papātaṃ. Tena muhuttaṃ gaccha. Tena muhuttaṃ gantvā dakkhissasi samaṃ bhumibhāgaṃ ramaṇīyaṃ.

Upamā kho myāyaṃ tissa, katā atthassa viññāpanāya. Ayaṃ cettha attho: puriso amaggakusaloti kho tissa, puthujjanassetaṃ adhivacanaṃ. 'Puriso maggakusaloti' kho tissa, tathāgatassetaṃ adhivacanaṃ. Arahato sammāsambuddhassa. 'Dvidhāpathoti 1- kho tissa, vicikicchāyetaṃ adhivacanaṃ. [PTS Page 109 [\q 109/] ']vāmomaggo'ti kho tissa, aṭṭhaṅgikassetaṃ micchāmaggassa adhivacanaṃ seyyathīdaṃ: micchādiṭṭhiyā micchāsaṃkappassa micchāvācāya micchākammantassa micchāājivassa vicchāvāyāmassa vicchāsatiyā micchāsamādhissa. Dakkhiṇo maggoti kho tissa, ariyassetaṃ aṭṭhaṅgikassa maggassa adhivacanaṃ, seyyathīdaṃ: sammādiṭṭhiyā sammāsaṃkappassa sammāvācāya sammākammantassa sammāājivassa sammāvāyāmassa sammāsatiyā sammāsamādhissa. 'Tibbo vanasaṇḍoti? Kho tissa, avijjāyetaṃ adhivacanaṃ. 'Mahantaṃ ninnaṃ pallalanti' kho tissa, kāmānametaṃ adhivacanaṃ.'Sobebhā papātoti' kho tissa, kodhupāyāsassetaṃ adhivacanaṃ. 'Samo bhumibhāgo ramaṇīyoti' kho tissa, nibbānassetaṃ adhivacanaṃ.

Abhirama tissa, abhirama tissa, ahamovādena ahamanuggahena ahamanusāsanīyāti, idamavoca bhagavā. Attamano āyasmā tisso bhagavato bhāsitaṃ abhinandīti.

Yamaka suttaṃ

85. Evaṃ me sutaṃ ekaṃ samayaṃ āyasmā sāriputto sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme.

Tena kho pana samayena yamakassa nāma bhikkhuno evarūpaṃ pāpakaṃ diṭṭhigataṃ uppannaṃ hoti tathāhaṃ bhagavatā dhammaṃ, desitaṃ ājānāmi yathā khīṇāsavo bhikkhu kāyassa bhedā ucchijjati vinassati na hoti parammaraṇā'ti.

Assosuṃ kho sambahulā bhikkhu yamakassa kira nāma bhikkhuno evarūpaṃ pāpakaṃ diṭṭhigataṃ uppannaṃ hoti: tathāhaṃ bhagavatā dhammaṃ desitaṃ ājānāmi, yathā khīṇāsavo bhikkhū kāyassa bhedā ucchijjati vinassati na hoti parammaraṇā"ti.

Atha kho te bhikkhu yenāyasmā yamako tenupasaṃkamiṃsu. Upasaṃkamitvā āyasmatā yamakena saddhiṃ sammodiṃsu sammodaniyaṃ kathaṃ sārāṇiyaṃ vitisāretvā ekamantaṃ nisīdiṃsu. Ekamantaṃ nisinnā kho te bhikkhū āyasmantaṃ yamakaṃ etadavocuṃ: "saccaṃ kira te āvuso yamaka, evarūpaṃ pāpakaṃ diṭṭhigataṃ uppannaṃ "tathāhaṃ [PTS Page 110] [\q 110/] bhagavatā dhammaṃ desitaṃ ājānāmi, yathā khīṇāsavo bhikkhu kāyassa bhedā ucchijjati vinassati na hoti parammaraṇā, ti.

Evaṃ kho'haṃ1- āvuso bhagavatā dhammaṃ desitaṃ ājānāmi yathā khīṇāsavo bhikkhu kāyassa bhedā ucchijjati vinassati na hoti parammaraṇā'ti.

87. Evaṃ me sutaṃ ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā rājagahe viharati veḷuvane kalandakanivāpe. Tena kho pana samayena āyasmā vakkali kumhakāranivesane viharati ābādhiko dukkhito bāḷhagilāno.

Atha kho āyasmā vakkali upaṭṭhāke āmantesi: etha tumhe āvuso, yena bhagavā tenupasaṃkamatha upasaṃkamitvā mama vacanena bhagavato pāde sirasā vandatha. Vakkali bhante bhikkhu ābādhiko dukkhito bāḷhagilāno. So bhagavato pāde sirasā vandatīti evañca vadetha 'sādhu kira bhante, bhagavā yena vakkali bhikkhu tenupasaṃkamatu anukampaṃ upādāya"ti.

Evamāvusoti kho te bhikkhū āyasmato vakkalissa paṭissutvā yena bhagavā tenupasaṃkamiṃsu. Upasaṃkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdiṃsu. Ekamantaṃ nisinnā kho te bhikkhū bhagavantaṃ etadavocuṃ: vakkali bhante, bhikkhu ābādhiko dukkhito bāḷha gilāno. Na me bhante, khamanīyaṃ, na yāpanīyaṃ bāḷhā me dukkhā vedanā abhikkamanti no paṭikkamanti. Abhikkamosānaṃ paññāyati no paṭikkamoti.

Kacci te vakkali,na kiñci kukkuccaṃ na koci vippaṭisāroti? Taggha me bhante, anappakaṃ kukkuccaṃ anappako vippaṭisāroti.

Kacci pana taṃ vakkali, attā sīlato na upavadatīti? Na kho maṃ bhante, attā sīlato upavadatīti.

No ce kira vakkali, attā sīlato upavadati, atha kiñca2- te kukkuccaṃ ko ca vippaṭisāroti? Cirapaṭikāhaṃ bhante, bhagavantaṃ dassanāya upasaṃkamitukāmo. Natthi ca me kāyasmīṃ tāvatikā balamattā, yāvatāhaṃ 3- bhagavantaṃ dassanāya upasaṃkameyyanti.

Atha kho āyasmā vakkali acirapakkantassa bhagavato upaṭṭhāke āmantesi: "etha maṃ āvuso mañcakaṃ āropetvā yena isigilipassaṃ kāḷasīlā tenupasaṃkamatha. Kathaṃ hi nāma mādiso antaraghare kālaṃ kattabbaṃ maññeyyā"ti.

Adukkhamasukhaṃ ce vedanaṃ vediyati sā aniccāti pajānāti anajjhositāni pajānāti, anabhinanditāni pajānāti.

So sukhaṃ ce vedanaṃ vediyati visaññunto naṃ vediyati. Pahoti ca me āyasmā ānando tathā dhammaṃ desetuṃ, yathāhaṃ dhammaṃ passeyyaṃ. Atthi ca me āyasmante ānande tāvatikā vissaṭṭhi, yannūnāhaṃ yenāyasmā ānando tenupasaṃkameyya'nti. Sammukhā me taṃ āvuso channa, bhagavato sutaṃ sammukhā ca paṭiggahitaṃ kaccānagottaṃ bhikkhuṃ ovadantassa "dvayanissito khoyaṃ kaccāna, loko [PTS Page 135] [\q 135/] yebhuyyena atthitañce va natthitañca, lokasamudayaṃ kho kaccāna yathābhūtaṃ sammappaññāya passato yā loke natthitā sā na hoti. Lokanirodhaṃ kho kaccāna yathābhūtaṃ sammappaññāya passato yā loke atthitā sā na hoti. Upayūpādānābhinivesavinibandho kho'yaṃ kaccāna, loko yebhuyyena, tañcāyaṃ upayūpādānaṃ cetaso adhiṭṭhānābhinivesānusayaṃ na upeti. "Sabbamatthi"ti kho kaccāna, ayameko anto, "sabbaṃ natthi"ti kho ayaṃ dutiyo anto, ete te kaccāna, ubho ante anupagamma majjhena tathāgato dhammaṃ deseti: "avijjāpaccayā saṃkhārā, saṃkhārāpaccayā viññāṇaṃ, viññāṇapaccayā nāmarūpaṃ nāmarūpa paccayā saḷāyatanaṃ. Saḷāyatanapaccayā phasso, phassapaccayā vedanā, vedanāpaccayā taṇhā, taṇhāpaccayā upādānaṃ, upadānapaccayā bhavo, bhavapaccayā jāti, jātipaccayā jarāmaraṇaṃ sokaparidevadukkhadomanassupāyāsā sambhavanti, evametassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa samudayo hoti.

Avijjāyatveva asesavirāganirodhā saṃkhāranirodho saṃkhāranirodhā viññāṇanirodho, viññāṇanirodhā nāmarūpanirodho, nāmarūpanirodhā saḷāyatananirodho, saḷāyatanirodhā phassanirodho phassanirodhā vedanānirodho, vedanānirodhā taṇhānirodho taṇhānirodhā upādānanirodho upādānanirodhā bhavanirodho, bhavanirodhā jātinirodho, jātinirodhā jarāmaraṇaṃ sokaparidevadukkhadomanassupāyāsā nirujjhanti. Evametassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa nirodho hotī"ti.

Evametaṃ 1- āvuso ānanda hohi, yesaṃ āyasmantānaṃ tādisā sabrahmacārayo anukampakā attakāmā ovādakā anusāsakā. Idañca pana me āyasmato ānandassa dhammadesanaṃ sutvā dhammo abhisametoti.

Yaṃ kiñci rāhula, rūpaṃ atītānāgatapaccuppannaṃ ajjhattaṃ vā bahiddhā vā oḷārikaṃ vā sukhumaṃ vā hīnaṃ vā paṇītaṃ vā yaṃ dūre santike vā sabbaṃ rūpaṃ "netaṃ mama nesohamasmi na meso attā"ti evametaṃ yathābhūtaṃ sammappaññāya passati. Yā kāci vedanā
